I'm considering leaving Guild Wars until Chapter 3 or longer, depending on what the reviews from my friends of chapter 3 are like.

I'm at that point where the only thing left for me to do is farm or pvp. I've filled all my character slots already. I've already tricked out every single one of them with at least 15K armor (some characters with multiple sets) and vanity skin items. I'm sitting on about 150K that I have no idea what to spend it on. I've gotten 80% of the titles I want on at least one of my characters, and I don't think I'm willing to take the time to get the other 20% of them. I only have 1 character that hasn't beaten Factions and 1 character that hasn't beaten Prophesies.

I'm stuck.

Still having a blast. The warrior changes has caused me to rejuggle my warrior armors and seek some new shields, but in the end all of that will likely cost me around 100K (ignoring the devaluation of my current possessions). Not that bad of an impact, IMO.

If you truly enjoy a challenge, this is one of the ways to go. Heck, I'm soloing with a Ritualist right now, and am absolutely loving it for the difficulty aspect alone.

Exactly, so this poll is already not going to be accurate. :P

As far as polls go, actually a fansite forum poll can be accurate. When they do polls nationwide, they certainly can't poll every single person... they take a sampling of people, ask them a question and from there give us results. A fansite poll is just as accurate as any other poll of GW players. Most people ignore any such surveys/polls anyway. Those that are interested in a game and willing to give an opinion on it are a more accurate sampling.

I know some MMOG's that actually give an exit poll when deciding to quit, but since Guild Wars has no monthly fee or billing cycle they can't accurately get this information anyway. Alas, this is the only option and something that I would think ArenaNet would glance at. Granted, many who say they are going to quit don't, many who say they will stay end up leaving. But it's still a good gauge to find out the overall general feeling of a community.

Oh! and I'm staying for my answer. (I know, big shocker there.)

To me quiting would mean that I delete it from my hard drive and install something else. I live in the West. Nothing is for free.

I dunno, I guess I'm in the minority for REALLY liking Factions. I wish it were as big as Prophecies but I thought the quality was excellent.

Pretty soon I'll reach my goals for Factions and play less often until chapter 3 comes out. I'm anticipating the Civ expansion and will be spending a lot of time with that.

But quitting Guild Wars? Hell no.

What I can't understand is, what are people who have quit, or planning to quit, still doing lingering around these forums? When I'm really into something, I spend a lot of time reading about it online, and as I lose interest, I stop.

I put "considering leaving" but the real answer is that I don't plan to quit or leave permanently, since there's no additional fee to keep playing the GW accounts I already own, but I'm already playing other games more often and considering not buying GW Chapter3.

Staying till they shut the servers down and lock out my account :P
Seriously this game is never ending so I will always keep my account active, there is no reason to ever chuck it, not like we are being charged for non-use. How much I play will be dictated by the quality of the campaigns. If a campaign sucks I’ll just run a couple of toons though and wait for the next one. If it’s great I’ll be on every spare moment playing my butt off. Interesting to see where the game will be in three years wouldn’t want to not have my account to check it out

I have been playing much less than normal, getting bored. I dont have factions yet, because im saving up for my Son who is coming into this world ~Sept. 24th...so that takes priority.
But playing Prophecies only, for over 13 months is mindnumbing, boring, and very frustrating.

I need to take a break.

Considering leaving -- my bitterness and disappointment are very strong. Possibly will take a break.

I don't think quitting should be a choice since those people would be pretty lame if they're still around posting here and so forth.

Seriously though I think chapter 3 will be the make or break for the game... well maybe not but it will for me... i'm happy with chapter 1 and 2... just wish more greens would drop for me ;; but that's a personal problem..

I'm have a feeling I'm quite done. I highly doubt anything they do in C3 could draw me back. My MM is no longer as fun. My monk is no longer as fun. My warrior now requires a whole bunch of re-armoring even though the armor I have was based on a year's worth of game experience. I haven't logged in or even felt the temptation to do so in 2 weeks and that's usually a sign of the end...

I've lost all patience for a game with constantly shifting dynamics and all-too-often nerfs to balance out over-used skills instead of buffs to balance out under-used skills.

ps - I also can't say I'll be sorry to not see this message any more Hopefully my leaving would be doing my part to clean things up a little bit

I've considered quitting at times. While I love GW, I've been through plenty of times where I could compare my experience to slamming my forehead against a wall.

I've definitely quit. Uninstalled and everything. BTW, Guru is notoriously pro-ANet so asking a poll here won't give an accurate portrayal, despite what Inde says.
